New, modern chalet in Grou. With air conditioning, bicycle storage and barbecue.
This new chalet (2024) is a wonderful place to spend your holiday in Friesland. The chalet features two bedrooms and three air conditioners. The master bedroom has two linked single hotel box-spring beds (210cm long), and the other bedroom has a bunk bed. The lower bunk is therefore also very suitable for adults. The chalet is therefore suitable for a maximum of 3 adults and 1 child, and possibly 1 baby. The bathroom has a rain shower, toilet, and vanity with a heated mirror. The living area is cozy and has a separate sitting and dining area with a comfortable lounge sofa and a round dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, combination microwave, refrigerator with freezer, Smeg coffee maker, Nespresso machine, and kettle. The chalet has a sunny, south-facing terrace. You can safely store your bicycles in your own bike shed with four wall sockets to charge your batteries.

Location
On the island and park Yn'e Lijte, near Grou you will find the Ralreiger Chaletlodge. Accessible via the bridge or by bicycle ferry. Thanks to its central location in Friesland, you can enjoy the Frisian lakes, the cozy village of Grou or explore one of the Eleven Cities or other nice villages in Friesland. The National Park de Alde Feanen is nearby and definitely worth a visit. By bike (8 van Grou ferry route), in a rental boat or drive to a starting point for a walking route in the beautiful nature. You can safely store your (rented) bike in the bicycle shed.

Special about this accommodation
The chalet is gas-free and has whisper-quiet air conditioning units in all rooms for cooling or heating. The large deck terrace features a dining set and a large Weber barbecue, while the lowered terrace has a comfortable lounge set. The mezzanine bunk bed is connected, allowing adults to easily get in and out of the lower bunk. The upper bunk is less suitable for adults. A high chair, crockery, and a baby travel cot (with a mattress protector and bottom sheet) are provided. The cot can be placed in the room with the bunk bed.

- Final cleaning is included in the price. - Due to the raised entrance, the chalet is not suitable for guests with disabilities due to the small steps. - This four-person chalet sleeps a maximum of 3 adults, one child, and one baby. - Smoking, pets, and parties are prohibited. - Free parking is available on the park grounds (after loading or unloading). - Private lockable bicycle storage. - A Miele laundry facility is available on the park.

Introduction
We (Janny and Ivo) are both self-employed and enthusiastic water sports enthusiasts. We are both originally from Rotterdam. After working and living in Brabant for a number of years, we have lived in the province of Groningen since 1998. Friesland has been our favorite sailing area for over 15 years. The super cozy Grou in particular was always a place to go by boat for a few days. Since 2021 we have even permanently moored in Grou by boat and we have also come to appreciate Friesland by bike. Because of that 'love' for Friesland and Grou, we looked for a nice recreational spot for 'later'. That is why we placed the Reed Heron on Yn'e Lijte in 2021. Due to the enthusiastic responses to the rental, the Grutte Fiif Safari Lodge followed in 2023 and the Ral Heron was added in 2024. We hope that you will be (or already are?) just as enthusiastic about Friesland and Grou!
Tips from the host
The Ralreiger Chalet Lodge is located near the bicycle ferry to Grou. This ferry takes you to the village center in just a few minutes (from approximately April to the end of September). The ferry is also part of the beautiful cycling route known as "De 8 van Grou," which you can cycle from the Ralreiger in one or more days. The Ralreiger has its own lockable bicycle shed with four electrical outlets. Electric sloops are available for rent near the reception of the water holiday park where the lodges are located. We highly recommend renting a sloop there for a relaxing way to explore the beautiful lakes and De Alde Feanen National Park.
