This atmospheric 19th century church has recently been restored and repurposed as a village hall and Bed & Breakfast. Here you can stay in peace, with modern facilities and a unique view from the tower that extends to the IJsselmeer. The church has a spacious hall with a flexible layout, ideal for meetings, services and festive occasions. At the front is an atmospheric meeting room. Downstairs in the tower is a comfortable sleeping area with a private shower, toilet and washing facilities. The historic cemetery and the cast iron fence around the church give this special place extra charm.

St. Joriskerk
This B&B is located at the bottom of the church tower. You can choose to be rocked to sleep by the bell above you. Next to the sleeping area there is a shower/toilet. In the front church there is a kitchen unit, where coffee/tea can be made. And in the church there are 2 armchairs ready for you.

The St. Joriskerk is located in the charming and quiet terp village of Dedgum, between Parrega and Tjerkwerd, in the middle of the vast Frisian landscape. With only about 100 inhabitants, the village exudes a serene and rural atmosphere. For nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet, the location near the IJsselmeer and the surrounding polders offers plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and enjoying the Frisian nature.

Tips from the host
Dedgum is beautifully situated between the 11 cities of Workum and Bolsward. A number of the other 11 cities are also within cycling distance. It is good cycling here, with nice cycle paths through the meadows. There are also walking routes here, so there is also a nice route for walkers to map out here. Furthermore, close to the IJsselmeer with various beaches.
