Acoustique – music and poetry
Acoustique is a trio, consisting of singer Marike Roelofsen, guitarist Marcel Mooibroek and double bass Wiep van der Meulen. They play jazz and pop songs in their own way. There are no drums or keys, making the sound surprisingly open and pure. They have a large repertoire and are suitable as background music for occasions, but they can also get the audience dancing at a party! Jurjen van der Meer (1957) provides the poetry. Born in Scharnegoutum, but has lived in Terkaple-Akmarijp all his life. He has been writing poems, verses and song lyrics for 50 years. Published three collections of poems: Yn 'e Fierte 1986 (poetry for adults), Freedtemiddei Frij 1996 and Sin Oan 2017 (poetry for children) and seven reading books for young people. Until 2017, Jurjen was a teacher at a primary school in Joure and for many years editor-in-chief of the magazine 'Tsjek' at Cedin Drachten. He also writes texts for Omrop Fryslân, Tomke and participates in music and theater productions. His work can be found on more than 100 CDs.
