Nature and culture bike tour with music
On Sunday, June 7, the Friends of the Hobbe van Baerdt Church Foundation is organizing a bike tour around Joure, where nature, music, and culture come together. The afternoon starts at 1:15 PM at the Hobbe van Baerdt Church with coffee or tea and an initial mini-concert. Afterwards, you will hop on your bike for a round of approximately 25 kilometers through the surrounding area. Along the way, you will stop at two locations for short performances. A string trio will provide light classical music and easy listening. In between, poems and short texts will be recited, sometimes lighthearted and sometimes a bit more subdued. Everything this afternoon revolves around shared experiences, connection, peace, relaxation, and fun. After the tour, you will return to the church, where the event will conclude with a drink and a snack. You can participate with a regular bicycle or e-bike. Less mobile? Then you can also join with your own transport.

The aim of the foundation is to provide financial support for the maintenance and use of the church and to make this church useful for the entire (Jouster) society. The church at Midstraat 69 in the center of Joure is ideal for organizing many small-scale events. This includes social gatherings such as courses, conferences, etc. The church building is also suitable for musical and literary performances. The building can also be used for organizing markets, weddings/parties and as a meeting location or rehearsal space for theater groups/dance groups.
