Time travel tour Gaasterland
Step back in time for a few hours in a 1971 FRAM bus and travel through the wondrous history and stories of Gaasterland! In two and a half hours, our cheerful guide, Yde, will show you every corner of Gaasterland, from forests to cliffs and from Mirns to Sloten. You'll get that school trip feeling in the bargain! Expect some fits of laughter! FRAM stands for the Frisian Bus Company. They provided public transport in Friesland from 1971 to 1996. Prefer a different or longer route? The starting point is Hotel Jans, Mientwei 1, 8572 WB Rijs. Free parking is available at the hotel.
Important to know
Please arrive at the vintage bus fifteen minutes beforehand so you can find a seat. The guide and driver will be waiting for you there. There is a maximum capacity of 42 people. The tour will proceed with a minimum of 10 participants. With this ticket, you can order a coffee, tea, or cappuccino with homemade apple pie at Hotel Jans on the day of the tour for €7 instead of €7.95. This ticket also gives you a 10% discount on the total price if you have lunch at Hotel Jans on the day of the tour.

As a Frisian ferryman, I share the stories of Friesland by taking guests on a journey through the Frisian countryside. I organize various tours: -Through Southwest Friesland, along the Frisian Lakes and through Gaasterland. This tour takes 4.5 hours and starts at the National Public Transport Museum in Ouwsterhaule. -Through Central Friesland, past the royal Oranjewoud forest to the poor peat colonies. This tour also starts at the National Public Transport Museum in Ouwsterhaule. -Through Gaasterland. This tour takes 2.5 hours and starts at Hotel Jans in Rijs.
