The accommodations of the Veenhoop are located in the middle of nature, sandwiched between two nature reserves; the Âlde Feanen and the Kraenlannen. The group accommodation is a sailing school during the summer months. The accommodations are located in a converted farm and around this former farm is a playing field of approximately 15,000 square meters, including table tennis tables, a football and volleyball field. The Veenhoop area is also great for walking or cycling.

The group accommodations of the Veenhoop are located in the village of the same name. De Veenhoop is located exactly between Grou and Drachten, both villages can be reached by car in twenty minutes. Both Grou and Drachten have supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The accommodations of the Veenhoop are located almost directly on the main waterway, you can rent (sailing) boats at the group accommodations and explore the area from the water.
